A Quick Guide to Keeping Up With Digital Health News & Research

A frequent question I am asked is, “How do you keep up with digital health?” And, to be honest, it’s tough. I have over a decade of experience focused on digital health spanning interests ranging from research to business deals, and the number of resources I pull from has grown based on an exponentially growing interest in this area within the past few years.

Nowadays, I find myself checking my favorite resources for news, recent research, opinions, and what the recent buzz is within digital health.

So, what resources do I use? I break them down into the following:

  • Digital health publications and journals to keep up with the literature and research.

  • Digital health news websites covering many different items, ranging from new research updates to business deals and acquisitions.

  • Digital health conferences that I sometimes attend, depending on costs and logistics. But I mainly follow on Twitter to see what’s the buzz.

  • Digital health organizations that either represent research, regulatory aspects and upcoming trends. They can be especially beneficial to see where industry regulations are going.

  • Digital health podcasts to get some interesting points from researchers, opinion leaders, and founders of digital health companies.

With that being the case, I have worked to create a hub/wiki with lists of such resources I have found beneficial, and I hope you can also benefit from them. Click the button to give it a visit!

This is part of a bigger initiative for The Digital Apothecary. Lately, I have spent a good amount of time working within academia and other organizations to build interest in teaching digital health topics. My biggest roadblock is knowledge. So, I firmly believe I need to prepare educators and others for digital health entering the curriculum and medical training realm. Creating a hub of knowledge is key. So expect to see several things over the coming months:

  1. Creation of a Digital Health 101 Hub. It exists right now, but several sections are under construction.

  2. Digital Health information by system and medical conditions. Want to know what digital health means for hypertension? Well, this will be your start resource.

  3. Digital Therapeutic Monographs. Expect to see more on this topic. I have to map out more on what this would look like, but expect something like a drug reference page but for DTx/PDTs.

I thank you for reading the material on this website and hope you find it beneficial. If you have suggestions, always feel free to contact me!
